World Osteoporosis Day – October 20th!
Oct. 20th of each year is World Osteoporosis Day and we are sharing this post to raise awareness of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is an underlying cause of debilitating, painful and potentially life-threatening broken bones.- Osteoporosis is a growing problem: As observed worldwide, fractures in women and men over the age of 50 affect one in every three women and one in every five men.
- Bone health should be: addressed at the family level to ensure every member maintains a healthy lifestyle concerning their bones.
- The burden of care for Osteoporosis patients: falls mainly on the other members of the family.
Identify your risk factors: If either of your parents has or had a history of osteoporosis or a hip fracture, you will likely have an increased risk of developing the disease in your later life.
